A hotel in Krabi Town with sea view? Those who know the area may be surprised; even more so that it boasts a swimming pool, a first for the town centre. But Golden Hill is a little bit different from the other hotels in Krabi Town, resembling more a beach resort in its style and service.
Located at the top of the steep Utarakit Rd, next to the police station, the rooms enjoy views unparalleled in town down to the mouth of the river (and the sea!), right across to the islands and a glimpse of Railay and Ao Nang. A roof terrace with private function room gives an even more impressive 360 degree vista.
The hotel's location and garden surroundings mean it is relatively quiet, although still within walking distance of shops and amenities (approximately 15 minutes away by foot, or a couple of minutes' taxi ride). It is, however, close to the riverside Thara Park area with its excellent daytime restaurants and sports recreation ground.
Golden Hill also has a fine Thai restaurant of its own (don't be put off by the lurid pictures in the lift), which is great for evenings as the immediate vicinity is rather quiet. The swimming pool also offers some diversion during the day, when it can be simply too hot to walk around the town.
Rooms
Rooms provide excellent value for money, even in the relatively cheap Krabi town. The two types of room are classed further according to which side of the building they are on; but otherwise are the same. The 39 rooms are arranged over 4 floors, accessible by lift and stairs. All come with air-con, cable TV, minibar and hot water shower as standard. They are tiled throughout and very clean and bright.
Standard rooms comprise the majority of the accommodation and are average-sized with a double or twin bed - all are road-facing. Rooms with a sea view also have a balcony with chairs and table. The deluxe rooms are double only, with a king-size bed and more elaborate furniture and room to move around. The deluxe sea view rooms also have a balcony.

Reservation Policy
Prices are per room per night, based on 2 people sharing and include breakfast, service tax and VAT.
Family Policy Children under 10 not compelled to take extra bed if sharing room with parents. A third adult or child 10 years and up staying in any room must take an extra bed.
Cancellation Policy
Golden Hill Hotel will charge the following cancellation penalties:
- Cancellation made more than 7 days before arrival: no charge.
- Cancellation made less than 7 days before arrival: 40% of total booking value.
Please note than following cancellation, any refund due under the hotel policy above will be subject to a processing charge of 5% of refund value + 350 THB to cover bank costs.
