City Hotel, as its name suggests, is bang in the middle of Krabi Town centre, directly opposite the excellent night market and around the corner from the river and the main shopping drag. It is also conveniently located for local transport to the beach areas of Ao Nang, Nopparat and Klong Muang.
Its location is its best selling point however; even the recently revamped “new wing” (the only wing we book) is starting to look shabby, so City Hotel would only really be suitable for a one-night stay before heading to or from the islands. For longer stays in town, there are now better options.
The new block of rooms is located above the attractive, glass-fronted lobby. There are three categories, all overlooking the street or other buildings (no balconies), and arranged over 4 floors, with a lift service. All come with air-con, cable TV, minibar and hot water shower as standard and are fully carpeted (except in the bathroom). The decor is tasteful and linen etc. is of a good quality.
Standard rooms are average-sized with a double or twin bed and basic furniture, including chairs and table. The deluxe rooms can accommodate three people (and are priced accordingly – with no reduction for single or double occupancy), with a double and a single bed, and are larger in size.
The superior rooms are designed for families with two large single beds and one king-size double, behind a semi-private wall. Fights over who can watch the TV have been anticipated with a handy swivel stand to face kids’ or parents’ side of the large room.
Both deluxe and superior rooms also come with free drinking water, a bathtub and direct dial telephone.
Note: car parking is not possible here as the street outside is busy; however you can park a short walk away on a side street. There is also no restaurant; but it is possible to find a whole variety of food, including breakfast, within a few metres of the hotel.
City Hotel is right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Krabi Town and less than 50m from the riverside. It’s a great, central location with shopping, dining and street food right on the doorstep.

Charges & Surcharges: Rates already include all taxes and charges: there is nothing further to pay. No breakfast, extra beds or baby cots available.
Amendments & Cancellations: Reservation deposits at City Hotel are fully refundable up to 7 days before arrival. After that a late cancellation penalty of one night will be charged. The same penalty applies to early check out (shortened stay) and no-shows.
All refunds are subject to a processing charge of 5% + THB 350 to cover bank costs. Amendments to any booking (e.g. change of dates, extension of stay) that do not require a refund may be made free of charge.
