Krabi International Airport
Information about getting to and from Krabi Airport
Krabi Airport is located on the main highway Route 4, approximately 9km from Krabi Town centre; 27km from Ao Nang Beach and 70km from Koh Lanta. There are fast and easy transport connections from the airport to anywhere in the province.
Krabi Airport Services (inside the terminal)
There is only one passenger terminal building in Krabi International Airport. The ground floor is for arrivals and the first floor is for departures. International and domestic flights use the same check in desks and arrival hall; passengers are separated once through the departure / arrival gates to clear customs and immigration if necessary.
In the main terminal building, there is not much in the way of facilities: shopping is limited to a few souvenir booths; for food and drink you will find a small coffee shop, the Thai Airways restaurant and a Dairy Queen. Money exchange services exist in the form of an exchange booth (open until the arrival of the last flight of the day) on the ground floor; and a couple of ATM machines.
In the arrival hall on the ground floor you will also find an information booth; hotel reservation services; the taxi and airport bus ticket counters; and car rental desks (see below for further information on these).
On the second floor above departures, there is one airport lounge run by Thai Airways; the airline offices; and a prayer room. There are no left luggage, massage / spa or shower facilities open to the general public in Krabi Airport. All floors of the airport are wheelchair accessible.
Once inside the departure lounge, there is even less in the way of shopping and other facilities, so make sure you have everything you need before passing through the departure gate. There is currently no duty free at Krabi Airport.
Krabi Airport Transfers
No unauthorised taxis or public transport are allowed inside the grounds of Krabi Airport, so your only options to leave the airport are to rent a car and drive yourself; pre-arrange an airport pick-up (many larger hotels offer a - paying - pick up service if you specify your arrival time), or use one of the airport's authorised transfer services.

International firms such as National, Avis and Budget have booths inside the main terminal building in the ground floor arrival hall. You can pre-book online for better rates.
Krabi Airport taxis and airport bus
All of the airport taxis offer pre-paid, fixed rate fares only; you must buy a coupon from one of the booths inside the terminal before finding a driver outside. There is also an official airport bus service, serving destinations in Ao Nang and Krabi Town only. Prices from 90 baht - 150 baht per person; buses leave when there are enough passengers to fill them.
Pre-paid transfer prices
If you book a hotel in Krabi through our website, we can offer you a pre-paid transfer service to and from your hotel. Prices are the same (or in some cases less than) the regular airport taxis, so you may wish to use this service to avoid queues during busy periods.
From Krabi Airport to:
Hotels in the Ao Nang area: car = 600 baht // minivan = 700 baht
Hotels in the Klong Muang area: car = 800 baht // minivan = 900 baht
Hotels in the Tubkaek area: car = 900 baht // minivan = 1000 baht
Hotels in Krabi Town: car = 400 baht // minivan = 450 baht
Hotels in Koh Lanta: minivan = 2500 - 2800 baht, depending on where on the island you are staying.
All transfers are private (no other guests will be sharing your car) and prices are per vehicle (not per person) for a one way journey (i.e. round trip is double the prices above). A car will take a maximum of 3 guests; a minivan a maximum of 8 guests.
If you are travelling independently to Railay Beach, or Ton Sai Beach, you can take a taxi or transfer to Ao Nang, where you can catch a boat to your final destination. Railay hotel transfer services (car + boat, run by the hotels themselves) can also be pre-booked and are highly advisable if you are arriving after dark. Prices for this service are in the range of 1250 - 1500 baht per one-way journey, depending on your arrival / departure time (more during the hours of darkness).
Getting back to the airport
Airport transfers can be arranged through your hotel, pre-booked through us, or you can take a taxi. Journey time from Krabi Town, Ao Nang and Klong Muang is 15, 25 and 45 minutes respectively. From Ko Lanta allow a minimum of 3 hours, due to ferry delays. Join-in minibus transfers (bookable in tour agents) are cheaper than private transfers; however bear in mind you will have to leave earlier to pick everyone up.
