Our review of Mountain View Resort

Freshly refurbished after a change of ownership (the hotel now belongs to City Hotel in Krabi Town), Mountain View Resort's rooms are looking very nice indeed. Probably the cleanest resort in the whole of Ton Sai, it has a well-tended garden and floors you could actually eat your dinner off!

Everything inside is white, or pale pistachio green, with tartan trimmings, an odd deco-choice, but one that works well in the spartan rooms. Other than a hanging space for your clothes and a shelf with a mirror, there is no other furniture present apart from the beds themselves. This means no TV, no fridge, no table, which usually come as standard in this price category.

In addition, electricity is provided only between the hours of 5pm and 10am, i.e. your a/c will not be available during the hottest part of the day! During May - October a/c is not available at all.

Air con rooms are considerably larger than the fan rooms and are located up on the hillside, with beautiful cliff views. They are available with twin beds only (can be pushed together to make a double); fan rooms are available with either twin beds or double beds. 10 brand new fan bungalows have been constructed over summer 2007, in a similar style, and are being sold at a higher rate.

The overall surroundings of Mountain View are very pleasant, a far cry from the rundown shacks lining much of the same pathway, although it's a long (10 minute) walk to the nice sandy part of the beach towards Railay.

The following information has been provided directly by the hotel: Mountain View Resort is wonderfully situated in beautiful Tonsai Bay about 45 minutes from Krabi Town. When you stay here you will be charmed by the beautiful and great views of the jungle covered mountains that are so different and interesting in this area.

We offer 46 Deluxe rooms, 24 with air conditioning & 22 that are fan cooled. All rooms are very comfortably furnished and have a private bathroom with shower. And each bungalow has a pleasant terrace area,just to relax and enjoy the special beauty of the tropical lighting and sounds.

Reservation Policy
Prices are per room per night, based on 2 people sharing, and include VAT. Breakfast is not included. Extra beds are available in every room category and are compulsory for a third adult or child over the age of 12 years in any room.

Cancellation Policy
Mountain View Resort will charge the following cancellation penalties:
- Cancellation or early check out notified to resort more than 7 days before arrival (more than 15 days before arrival during December and January): no charge
- Cancellation or early check out notified less than 7 days before arrival (less than 15 days before arrival during December and January): one night's stay, or 50% of the total booking value (whichever is the greater).
- No show: no refund will be given.

Please note than following cancellation, any refund due under the hotel policy above will be subject to a processing charge of 5% of refund value + 350 THB to cover bank costs.
Amendments to any booking (e.g. change of dates, extension of stay) that do not require a refund may be made free of charge.
