Nadivana Serviced Apartments: Pictures, Reviews and Rates

Nadivana Serviced Apartments is a western-owned and run hotel, in a similar style to the more typically Mediterannean "holiday villages". Located around 3km from the beach, in the residential area of Klong Haeng - Nateen, it has just about everything on site - pool, restaurant, minimart and massage service - as well as nicely-designed accommodation, to make it ideal for families or groups seeking a quiet base from which to explore the area, or simply stay put and relax in the sunshine.

Topping Nadivana's list of virtues is the large swimming pool (430 sqm), with ample space devoted to children, instead of the more usual cramped splashing area in many hotel pools; and the very flexible accommodation, divided into studios (one bedroom with kitchenette / dining), and two bedroom apartments with living room. Both types have connecting interior doors, allowing groups of up to 12 (with extra beds) to stay in a 4 bedroom unit.

Penthouse + Penthouse (upper floor) = 8 - 12 people (with extra beds)

All types of accommodation have a kitchen corner, with large fridge, sink, microwave, kettle and electric stove, allowing guests to prepare their own food. This is particularly useful for those travelling with young children. The Klong Haeng village market, where you can buy fresh produce, is held twice a week, just a short walk from the hotel and there is also a minimart on site stocking basic groceries.

Both studios and apartments are spacious and bright, with high ceilings. White walls and floors help keep them cool, though there is also air conditioning throughout. Fittings and furnishings are comfortable, though not luxurious. The apartments have a large lounge / living area with sofa and separate TV and DVD. The master bedroom has a small ensuite bathroom, while the second (twin bed) room shares the apartment's main bathroom across the hallway. If you are a fan of nice bathrooms, Nadivana is not for you: although functional, all are windowless and have no bathtubs.

Accommodation is laid out in two blocks arranged in an "L" shape around the pool. Ground floor rooms are all wheelchair accessible, through the sliding doors onto the poolside terrace. Rooms are large enough to allow unrestricted movement. Upper floors each offer two apartments, which have a large, private sun deck in addition to the indoor lounge, giving a mammoth 145 sqm of living space; these are known as the "penthouse" apartments. Access is via a staircase at the rear of the buildings.

The whole complex has a wireless network, so you can use your laptop or mobile phone to connect to the internet. There is also a PC terminal for those who do not have their own computer. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and there is a free shuttle service (on demand) to take guests within the local area, usually down to the main commercial zone at Ao Nang beach, though guests returning late at night will have to make their own way back with a taxi. The owner of the apartments also runs his own tours and excursions and can help to organise any activity available in the Krabi area.
