Phra Nang Place is a new hotel (2005) in Ao Nang. Its style is refreshingly modern, with contemporary furniture and decoration and well-appointed rooms, offering more than the usual facilities for this price range.
Arranged over three floors, the 31 rooms are in three categories: 'front view' (with road-facing balcony, higher floors with nice cliff views), 'mountain view' (without balcony, at the back of the building and possibly quieter) and 'standard' (an annex of less stylish rooms at the back of the main building). All rooms in the main building are spacious, twin slightly more so than double, and come with air-con, hot water shower, digital safe, hairdryer, fridge, TV and DVD player. Each has an individual design on its polished floor and comfortable rattan furniture. Bathrooms in particular are above average, with some thought put into the decor.
The recently added category of 'Family room' is simply a front view room with an extra single bed, to allow it to sleep 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children.
The hotel is located on the main road into Ao Nang, around 400m (less than 10 minutes' walk) from the beach. There are plenty of small restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity, including Ton Sai, one of Ao Nang's best Thai restaurants, directly opposite.
There is also a pleasant restaurant / cafe area on the ground floor of the hotel, with internet facilities, as well as a small courtyard garden out back, with Thai-style pavilions to laze around in.

Reservation Policy
Prices are per room per night, and include all applicable taxes. During May - October when there is no breakfast service, coffee, tea and bread are available free of charge in the lobby restaurant. During 16 October - 30 April inclusive, minimum stay required is 3 nights.
Family policy A maximum of one extra bed can be added in every room except front view triple.
Cancellation Policy
Phra Nang Place will charge the following cancellation penalties:
- Cancellation or early check out notified to resort more than 14 days before arrival: no charge.
- Cancellation or early check out notified less than 14 days before arrival: two nights' stay.
- No show or early check out: no refund will be given.
Please note than following cancellation, any refund due under the hotel policy above will be subject to a processing charge of 5% of refund value + 350 THB to cover bank costs.
Amendments to any booking (e.g. change of dates, extension of stay) that do not require a refund may be made free of charge.
