Railay Princess Resort, along with its sister resort, Railay Bay, is at the forefront of the unrelenting gentrification of Railay. A newish resort, that opened in early 2006, it is large in scale and catering mainly to couples and families, rather than the backpackers of yore.
The resort is situated in between the east and west side, so has no direct beach access. Railay West Beach is around 250m walk, through Sand Sea Resort.
There is an average sized, freeform swimming pool in the grounds, as well as a large pond (or small lake!), filled with fish and lotus flowers, that is traversed by a wooden walkway. With the Railay cliffs in the background, Railay Princess enjoys quite a picturesque location. All 45 rooms are west facing, with private balconies and housed in three storey blocks - there are no bungalows here - and are decorated in a contemporary Thai style.
Furnishing and fabrics are nice and the rooms are very comfortable; however, you will occasionally spot a missed bit of paint, or a chipped table corner - testament to the speed with which the resort was built. The marble bathroom features a walk-in hot water shower, but no tub; and all rooms, unusually, are fully carpeted.
A recently opened spa (2009) is worth a visit, offering treatments on a par with those available elsewhere on the peninsula in a nicer location. The Princess restaurant is located next to the lily pond and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as providing room service until 11pm. The Thai food is not bad. Service is generally good and attentive, although English is not spoken fluently. Please note that Railay Princess is a Muslim-owned resort and as such does not serve pork in its restaurant.

Reservation Policy
Prices are per room per night and include American breakfast, service charge and VAT. Double or twin rooms sleep two. Triple rooms sleep three. No extra beds. Late check out from 11.30 - 18.00 will be charged at 50% of room price. Check in prior to 14.00 is subject to room availability.
Family Policy A maximum of 2 children under the age of 12 years may share a room with their parents, using the existing bedding. Breakfast will be charged at 150 THB per child, per day. Connecting rooms are available for larger families or for those with older children. Baby cots available upon request, free of charge.
Low season promotion: Valid for stays between May 1 and Oct 31 only: stay every 3rd night free.
Compulsory gala dinner charges apply to all guests in-house on the following day:
31 Dec - 3500 THB / adult, 2200 THB / child (5 -11 years)
The dinner will be held in the beach front restaurant of Railay Bay Resort (approximately 300 metres away). No check out is permitted on 31 December and all stays during peak season are subject to a minimum booking requirement of 4 nights.
Cancellation Policy
Railay Princess Resort will charge the following cancellation penalties:
- Cancellation notified to resort more than 21 days before arrival (3 days during May - October): no charge.
- Cancellation made less than 21 days before arrival, or early check out: one night's stay.
- No show: full booking amount will be charged.
Please note than following cancellation, any refund due under the hotel policy above will be subject to a processing charge of 5% of refund value + 350 THB to cover bank costs.
Amendments to any booking (e.g. change of dates, extension of stay) that do not require a refund may be made free of charge.
