Topic: Thai Language School(s) in Krabi

Has anyone been studying Thai in a language school in Krabi? Any recommendations from personal experience? Info found through Google is rather poor. Would like to know if there are recognized schools and would be grateful if anyone can give me additional information like location, courses, dates, fees etc. Of course an official website with all this would do. Many thanks.

Re: Thai Language School(s) in Krabi

Well Fred, only 6 people viewed this post so far. I already sent an email inquiry to i-learning (formerly known as Papinporn Language School). No reply yet. Not unusual in Thailand. I might give them a call later today. I will keep you informed regarding proceedings. Please let me know on here if you find more information through alternative channels.
Cheers, vanB

I will also ask around and see if I can find any info for you.I can say that Papinporn (or whatever the latest incarnation is) has "mixed reviews".

For Thai language learning, depending on your level, I would really recommend getting a personal tutor rather than taking a course and then tailoring the language to your specific needs.

Re: Thai Language School(s) in Krabi

Meanwhile I received the following (limited) information from i-learning (Papinporn).
Classes are max. 5 persons.
Fees include study books and materials.
Short course: 20 hours in (depending on schedule) 2 to 4 weeks; no fee mentioned.
Long courses: 80 hours in 6 months (THB 20,000) or study 1 year and choose 100 hours (THB 25,000) or 200 hours (THB 49,000)
All fees to be paid in full upfront.
Fees for all courses (beginner to advanced) are the same and are based on group lesson with fixed schedule only.
I received this information from the director, Khun Papinporn Kokanot

I am a Thai who graduated from a University in Thailand.  I also have studied in USA.  I have been living in America for more than twenty years.  Now, I am in Krabi.  I would teach Thai language to foreigners who want to learn.  The class will be free of charge.  There would be limited number of students per class.  Please contact me through the following email for more details.  [email protected]
