ITINERARY: This combo tour is perfect for those with limited time in Krabi as you will visit two sets of islands in one day. It’s also great for those who are later risers – the start time of 09.30 (10.30 from Railay) makes for a more relaxing morning, though the day itself is very long (almost 12 hours!).
The combined Hong Island – 4 Islands sunset trip, unlike most island trips, has a relatively fixed itinerary. This is because, regardless of tides, the afternoon / sunset part of the trip must be spent at 4 Islands – both for the better views, and for safety reasons (it is extremely windy at Hong Island after dark).
So, after picking up guests in Railay, you will start by heading over to the Hong Islands. Here you will visit Ao Lading, a pretty small cove, as well as the white sand twin bays of Hong Island, and take a tour of the lagoon. Spend time relaxing on the beach and have a picnic lunch (one dish with rice – bring extra snacks if required). Then it’s time to set off for the 4 Islands, stopping off on the way at Red Island (Koh Daeng) for some snorkeling at the reef.
The afternoon will be spent cruising around the 4 Islands area (Chicken, Poda, Mor and Tup Islands), stopping for sightseeing and more snorkeling. Around 5.30pm you will make a final stop at Poda island where the crew will set up a buffet dinner which you can enjoy as the sun sets.
On the way back to the mainland (note: sea is rougher than normal after dark), you will stop off at Phra Nang Cave for an optional swim with the phosphorescent plankton.
Please note that this itinerary does not include a long stop at the Railay peninsula.
Expected group size: 6 – 20 pax, depending on the day booked.
NOTE: since 18 June 2015, customers on island-hopping tours that stop at beaches with ranger stations are subject to pay National Park entry fees. On this tour, you will visit 2 different National Parks and the fee is due once in each place, making a total of + 700 THB per adult and + 350 THB per child. These fees must be paid in cash on the day of travel and are not included in your ticket price.
Important: This itinerary packs a lot into a very long day; if you are susceptible to heat, travel sickness or are in any way unfit or unwell, we advise strongly against booking this tour.
