ITINERARY: Transfer by minivan to Thalane Pier (30 mins journey). Paddle across the bay (open water, but fairly sheltered) to some remarkable coastal canyons at the end of a stretch of protected mangrove forest. As well as majestic scenery, many species of monkey and birds live in this area, which boasts secluded coves and caves. Total paddle time is around 1.5 hours, not including breaks.
After lunch at a beachfront restaurant, stop off for a refreshing swim in a secluded, natural forest pool. Continue for an hour’s elephant trek through rubber plantations and along a cliffside stream either at Nosey Parker Elephant Camp, or a smaller camp in Chong Phli village. Please mention in your order notes if you have any preference.
Paddle guides are also available as an add-on service for this tour; they can take maximum one passenger each, so please book one per person requiring the service.
Note that although it is easier if all passengers on the kayak paddle, only one person actually needs to paddle, so children or less fit people can sit as passengers with an able adult and in this case no paddle guide will be required. Kayaks are available as 2 or 3 seaters.
Expected group size: 6 – 20 pax, depending on the day and time of year.
