Itinerary: Paka Showpark, a brand new cultural venue in Krabi, follows the tried and tested concept of Phuket Fantasea and Siam Niramit, offering a buffet dinner, cultural spectacle and shopping experience, but with a unique southern Thai flavour.

The current show, Illumanorah, is a spectacular light and sound experience, interpreting the traditional Thai folk tales of the Kinnaree (half bird, half woman figures), with a modern twist, and incorporating the southern dance of Manorah (also based on the Kinnaree legend).

The lighting, costumes, music and choreography combine to make a thrilling, mainly wordless show that would appeal to all ages, but that is especially impressive for younger viewers. The performance is just over 1 hour long. The stage is round so there is no preferential seating (all tickets are sold at the same price).

Before the show, there is an optional dinner buffet, offering a large selection of Thai food (including some fish and squid), salad bar and fruits; Halal section with separate seating available. The quality of the food is good and it is a nice way to sample many dishes you may not otherwise have the opportunity to try on a short trip. Alcohol and special seafood platters are available at an additional cost.

After the show there is a chance to meet the performers and have your picture taken with them in costume (no charge). There is also a small “market” in the complex selling souvenirs, which will be expanded during this year. The plan is to make Paka Showpark a large entertainment and cultural destination. For now, although small, it is still a worthwhile experience, and definitely one of a kind in Krabi.

Important: Children under the age of 4 are not charged for food or show, however no seat will be provided for them. If your under-4 or under-12 child is tall for their age, please come prepared with some ID.
