The latest exhibition at Krabi Contemporary Art Gallery is an installation, using video, mirrors and the interaction of visitors.
Entitled “Spiritual Media Reaction” (its Thai title จิตเป็นนาย “Jit Pen Nai” translates directly as “Mind is Master”), the show is the work of two southern Thai artists, Amrit Chusuwan and Wittaya Chanma, and is billed as a reflection on religion (Buddhism) in modern Thai life.
An interesting stop, if you are in town (entrance is free), the show also radically changes the perception of Thai art as being only paintings of golden Buddhas and orchids!
– Spiritual Media Reaction runs at Krabi Contemporary Art Gallery until 16 February 2013, from Tue – Sun 10.00 – 17.00 (closed on Mondays). The gallery is located on Issara Road, opposite the old Wat Kaew Temple.
